We specialise in hog roast catering and barbeques and are available throughout the year for Weddings, Anniversaries, Fetes and special events.

Whether you’re planning to host a special event for a large group of people such as a wedding reception, or perhaps a gathering of friends or business colleagues, then you should consider featuring a pig roast.

roasts are sourced locally, and in our opinion, produce outstanding pork or bacon

To ensure that your meat is cooked in complete safety, our hog roasters are powered by a large gas burner which provides a
safe, consistent temperature throughout the cooking period. We test the meat with a digital
thermometer on a regular basis to ensure that the pig is thoroughly cooked before carving . From start to finish, we are committed to providing excellent service and quality.
The mobile roasting oven is trailer mounted which makes it practical and easy to use. Having gas powered machines and the use of a small generator allows us to be highly portable when required. This is ideal if you are considering hosting your hogroast in a field or remote venue that is not close to an electrical supply.
Our Equipment
Hosting a Hog Roast
In addition to the hog roasting and gas powered barbeque machines, we can also offer a range of alternative catering options.
Our portable smoking unit is ideal for fish and
vegetarian menus. The smoker can cook up to
20 fresh trout at once. The machine smokes
the fish using specially prepared wood briquettes
so that the resulting flavour is absolutely delicious.
Living close to a fresh water trout farm, means that we are providing freshly caught fish which literally melt in the mouth!
If you would prefer us to carve you pig or lamb indoors, in front of your guests we can now provide a medieval wrought iron stand. The pig is cooked in the mobile oven and then transferred onto the stand. A real flame - gas powered fire basket keeps the meat piping hot and allows us to carve and serve the meat in front of you.
For themed events such as fetes, Victorian evenings Murder Mystery Nights, late night shopping or promotional events our mobile oven is ideal! Complete with a water boiler for hot drinks and cooking capacity for 150 jacket
potato's this wonderfully themed Victorian oven is the perfect centre piece and can cook a wide range of food items.
We even dress in Victorian costume if requested!
Hog Roasting Pricing Policy 2008
Our prices are fully inclusive of the following services:
- The provision of a pig or lamb for your specified number of guests
- The hire of our equipment (which is fully insured and tested)
- The provision of the gas for 15 - 20 hours to cook the animal
- The provision of rolls and apple sauce to accompany your hog roast (mint sauce for lamb)
- The supervision by our staff of the cooking of the pig (this takes place away from your venue)
- The provision of a chef to deliver carve, and serve the meat
- The provision of consumable items such as disposable gloves
and aprons, chaffing fuel and sanitising wipes
- The costs of setting up and clearing away the hog roast after the meat has been served. All meat products and associated rubbish is bagged and disposed of by a
licensed contractor
The first 20 miles of the delivery are free of charge and subsequent mileage is charged at £1.00 per mile one way.
We request a £200.00 deposit to secure all hog roast bookings. This is non refundable in the event of a cancellation. The balance is payable 15 days before the event. Payment may be made on line using 'Paypal' or by cheques made payable to 'Piggybank Farm'.
There are no hidden costs associated with our service. The prices advertised form the basic package. We can quote for further catering options such as the smoker, potato oven or gas barbeque on a per head basis. We also offer the provision of cutlery, crockery
canapés salads and desserts at excellent rates.
We
do not rent out our equipment since the insurance costs make this prohibitive. We believe however, that our pricing is very
competitive and the provision of a full service package offers you peace of mind and a relaxing, enjoyable event.

Our spit roasting and trailer roasting machines are both 44 inches wide and cannot be lifted up steps ( this is an important health and safety consideration)
The smoker/roaster has an internal tray which is 24inches wide and would allow us to bring the cooked pig into your venue to carve on the wrought iron stand, if access for the trailer is a problem.
Before making a booking, please check that your access is sufficiently wide to allow us to get the machine into position
