Faye and I have been pig mad since we exchanged pigs as wedding presents!
Our choice in pre nuptial gifts might have been a little...different but our desire and
enthusiasm for our small herd of Middle White pigs is serious and our
commitment genuine.
We set up the small holding and then the hog roast catering business out
of a sheer enjoyment for growing and breeding pigs.
Our hog roast catering business has grown steadily over the past 5 years. We believe that our 'hands on'
commitment has been immensely useful in educating us about the qualities that make an excellent pig. The environment and the conditions in which the pigs are kept, the quality of the feed and the inherent breed qualities of the different types of pig all help to produce pigs that will excel in flavour and texture.
Our commitment to our clients is reflected in our hands on approach and
our dedication to our business. We want you to feel confident in the investment that you are making each time you book our
hog roast catering service.
The quality of the food and the heritage of the pigs that will form the centre piece to your event, must be supported by a competitive, friendly and flexible service.
It is therefore, with confidence in our experience as hog roast caterers
that we invite you to take a look at Piggybank Farm.
Founded in 1997, Piggybank Farm has developed, based on a home grown love of pigs.
From our smallholding on a half acre paddock to a thriving hog roast
catering business, Piggybank Farm has been built upon hard work and hands on experience.
The very name 'Piggybank' reflects our commitment to the investment that we have made in British Rare Breed Pigs.
Middle White, Berkshire, Tamworth, Large Black, Saddleback and Gloucester Old Spot, these are our heritage and deserve to be the house hold names that they were traditionally.
Marginalised in by the market place by their commercial cousins the Landrace and Large White, it has taken over 30 years to bring the rare breeds back into public view.
Indeed, the very term 'rare' arises out of a lack in public demand for the outstanding quality meat that these animals produce.
Bigger, leaner and dual purpose were all 'in vogue' concepts sold to the public by a market place
desperate to remain competitive.
Thankfully, British Breeds are making a well deserved come back and this web site celebrates their considerable achievement.
The site is dedicated to pig lovers everywhere!.
